Bebe Rexha is tired of archaic thinking!
On Monday, the “Call You Mine” singer took to Instagram to share that she was recently told by a male music exec that she’s getting too old and her brand is confusing because female songwriters her age aren’t supposed to post sexy pics.
Well, along with posting a steamy underwear selfie, Bebe clapped back, writing, "I’m fed up with being put in a box. I make my own rules.”
She continued, "I’m tired of women getting labeled as 'hags' when they get old and guys get labeled as sexy with age. Anyways, I’m turning 30 on August 30 and you know what, I’m not running away from it,” adding, “I’m gonna celebrate my age because you know what, I’m wiser, I’m stronger and TRUST ME I’m a much better lover than I was 10 years ago.”
This isn’t the first time Bebe has used her IG to push back.
If you recall, back in January, she also called out unnamed designers who refused to dress her for the Grammys because of her size.
"If a size 6/8 is 'too big' then I don’t know what to tell you. Then I don’t want to wear your f---ing dresses, 'cause that's crazy.”
For Bebe it's simple: “Empower women to love their bodies.” For more on this story, head on over to Billboard.com. And until next time, for Billboard News, it’s your girl Jordyn Rolling.
